Biology Body Systems

As part of your Biology_Body Systems project, the following resources have been added to the library website, and blog
Research Pathfinder for the project located at Biology_Body Systems.doc
Custom Search Engine for the project located at www.vlcspear.blogspot.com . Look on the right hand toolbar for a black Google search box called Biology_Body Systems. 
A bookcart is located in the front of the library. This bookcart contains medical and anatomy encyclopedias and books on individual organs and organ systems. These book may be checked out by students.

To the RIGHT of this blog post is a custom search engine called STEM CELL RESEARCH. You can research online articles and sites related to stem cell research. Just type your search term into the search box and click enter. The system will direct you to academic, science, medicine and education sites related to your topic.

Logon: login and password is with your teacher
After you have logged in, choose the database called CONSUMER HEALTH
Type in your search terms and choose your source

Dupont Science Awards


Here are the four topic areas for the Dupont Science Essay. Click on the topic area for directions for the topic.
How to Research Your Topic
You have three options to help you research your topics
1.      Use the custom search engine on the right toolbar called Dupont Science. It includes Google Scholar and JSTOR resources
2.      Use the single subject archives in the library website. Hippo Campus is an online study center for students and a professional development resource for teachers from the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education. Your Biology Book is Online, too!

The full text of the Prentice Hall Biology textbook is online and accessible to all students at Granada. Just click on this link: https://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com/snpapp/login/login.jsp.

Your login is a generic login. We have made 100 student logins. Just type in the username "Biology101" or 102 all the way up to "Student200." Remember to capitalize the "B" in Biology. The password is exactly the same as your password for Hotmath. Just check your Gaggle email for all the logins and passcodes for our databases.

Science meets Geography






The Genographic Project and Atlas of the Human Journey is a five year project from the National Geographic society that uses genetic data to outline human geography and migration throughout history.
Although participation in the project does require money, visiting the site, and browsing through videos related to the project, is free.
